Beth Hart is a powerhouse vocalist, from her early days in Los Angeles to her status as a global icon her career has had its setbacks and its triumphs, she persevered through the hardships and exposed her artistic brilliance to the world.
Born January 24, 1972, in Los Angeles, Beth Hart was interested in music from a very young age, She grew up in a family that was very music orientated, She found peace in music it gave her a safe haven where she could relax, she listened to artists such as Etta James, Billie Holiday and Led Zeppelin, Her teenage years were marred with struggles so she found an escape through music.
Hart’s first big break came in 1999 with her single ‘LA Song’ (Out of this town) this song was featured on the tv show Beverly Hills 90210, The song shot through the charts putting Beth in the spotlight, as her star began to shine her internal turmoil intensified, resulting in a hiatus from her music career. Here is ‘LA Song (Out of this town)
After a period of introspection self-reflection and rehabilitation Beth Hart returned stronger than ever and laser focused on her craft. Her 2003 album ‘Leave the Light On’ marked a turning point in her career, musically and personally, the album was pure raw expression with tracks like ‘Leave the Light On’ resonating deeply with fans. Here is Beth performing an incredible version of that song.
Over the next decade Hart collaborated with some of the biggest names in the blues world, Joe Bonamassa who was a big fan of Beth’s did an album with her in 2011 (Don’t explain) was met with critical acclaim this was followed by her ‘Seasaw’ album which earned a grammy nomination, Her collaborations earned her a place in the blues community and opened the door for her to experiment with different genres. Here she is performing with Joe Bonamassa, her work with Joe is what grabbed my attention as I have been a huge Joe Bonamassa fan for a long time.
If you haven’t heard it, I suggest you go listen to Beth’s covers of Led Zeppelin songs they are incredible! what sets Beth Hart apart from others is her extremely powerful voice, Her voice is powerful soulful and energetic, she has a level of authenticity that can’t be matched, she really makes you believe she has been through or had some experience with the subjects she sings about, it sounds from the Hart.
Albums like ‘Better Than Home’ (2015) and ‘Fire on the Floor’ (2016) showcase her phenomenal skills as a singer, she tackles themes of love, loss and redemption, she struggled throughout with mental health issues and brought them to life with songs such as ‘War in My Mind’ and ‘Thankful’ offering raw introspection.
I strongly recommend Beth Hart, I think she is the best singer in the world right now, if you haven’t heard of her, you’re welcome! Beth is a living legend!

She has a beautiful, powerful voice! I am 67 and no singer from the nineties has moved me like hers. Thanks for posting!
Thank you for the fantastic introduction. Beth has a deep, beautiful voice. I can see why you consider her the best. You can feel the pain in her lyrics.
