So I found Liquid Tension Experiment by looking into other things John Petrucci was involved in, from there I was fascinated by Mike Portnoy’s drumming and that’s how I found Winery Dogs and Richie Kotzen who is now probably my favourite artist.

Liquid Tension Experiment (LTE) is a renowned instrumental progressive metal supergroup that has captivated audiences with its technical brilliance and innovative compositions. Formed in 1997 by Dream Theater's drummer Mike Portnoy, the band brought together an extraordinary lineup of musicians: guitarist John Petrucci, keyboardist Jordan Rudess, and bassist Tony Levin. This collaboration resulted in a unique fusion of progressive rock, metal, and jazz influences.

he idea for LTE emerged when Magna Carta Records gave Mike Portnoy the freedom to create a project of his choice. He assembled a dream team of musicians, each bringing their own expertise and flair. The band's chemistry was undeniable, leading to the release of their self-titled debut album in 1998. The album showcased intricate compositions, virtuosic performances, and a blend of improvisation and structured songwriting.

LTE released two studio albums in quick succession: Liquid Tension Experiment (1998) and Liquid Tension Experiment 2 (1999). These albums featured tracks like "Paradigm Shift" and "Universal Mind," which became fan favorites for their complexity and energy. The band's work was so influential that it played a role in Jordan Rudess joining Dream Theater as their keyboardist.

After a hiatus, LTE reunited in 2008 for live performances and again in 2020 to record their third studio album, Liquid Tension Experiment 3, released in 2021. This album marked a triumphant return, showcasing the band's evolution while staying true to their roots.
